Sónar 2017
From 15th to 17th of June, the 24th edition of Sónar explores the latest tendencies in electronic music and its interactions with digital creation and new media. This festival is unique in its format, because it combines art, vanguard and experimentation with electronic dance music’s newest trends.
Sónar Barcelona’s activities are divided into two main locations: Fira Montjuïc hosts Sónar by Day, with concerts, showcases and an area for professionals, the essence of which is discovering new talent and Fira Gran Via l’Hospitalet, which hosts Sónar by Night, where the larger shows take place with the leading names in the current international music scene.
One more year, in addition to habitual sections, Sónar presents Sónar+D, a lab and meeting point for the future of creativity and technology where there will be more than 60 activities, for public and professionals.
This festival has grown a lot since it started, in 1994, and it wants to be an international model. Each year Sónar is host to more than 80,000 people from more than 90 countries. Moreover, since 2002 Sónar has organized more than 40 festivals in many different parts of the world, like Tokio, Osaka, Sao Paulo or Reykjavik.
